چکیده

Abstract The Kubo formula is used to calculate the spin-Hall conductivity σsH in a spin-polarized twodimensional electron system with Rashba-type spin-orbit interaction. As in the case of the unpolarized electron system, σsH is entirely determined by states at the Fermi level, a property that maintains in the presence of magnetic impurities. In the clean limit, the spin-Hall conductivity decreases monotonically with the Zeeman splitting, a result of the ordering effect on the electron spins produced by the magnetic field. In the presence of magnetic impurities, the spin-dependent scattering determines a finite renormalization of the static part of the fully dressed vertex correction of the velocity operator that leads to an enhancement of σsH , an opposite behavior to that registered in the presence of spin-independent disorder. The variation of σsH with the strength of the Rashba coupling and the Zeeman splitting is studied.

Vertex Corrections on the Anomalous Hall Effect in Spin-polarized Two-dimensional Electron Gases with Rashba Spin-orbit Interaction

We study the effect of disorder on the intrinsic anomalous Hall (AH) conductivity in a spinpolarized two-dimensional electron gas with a Rashba-type spin-orbit interaction. We find that AH conductivity vanishes unless the lifetime is spin-dependent, similar to the spin Hall (SH) conductivity in the non-magnetic system. In addition, we find that the SH conductivity does not vanish in the presenc...

Quantum Interference Control of Ballistic Magneto- resistance in a Magnetic Nanowire Containing Two Atomic- Size Domain Walls

The magnetoresistance of a one-dimensional electron gas in a metallic ferromagnetic nanowire containing two atomic-size domain walls has been investigated in the presence of spin-orbit interaction. The magnetoresistance is calculated in the ballistic regime, within the Landauer-Büttiker formalism. It has been demonstrated that the conductance of a magnetic nanowire with double domain walls...

Inverse spin Hall effect and anomalous Hall effect in a two-dimensional electron gas

We study the coupled dynamics of spin and charge currents in a two-dimensional electron gas in the transport diffusive regime. For systems with inversion symmetry there are established relations between the spin Hall effect, the anomalous Hall effect and the inverse spin Hall effect. However, in two-dimensional electron gases of semiconductors like GaAs, inversion symmetry is broken so that the...

Onsager relations in a two-dimensional electron gas with spin-orbit coupling.

Theory predicts for the two-dimensional electron gas with only a Rashba spin-orbit interaction a vanishing spin Hall conductivity and at the same time a finite inverse spin Hall effect. We show how these seemingly contradictory results are compatible with the Onsager relations: The latter do hold for spin and particle (charge) currents in the two-dimensional electron gas, although (i) their for...
